U.S & Canada Auto Sales for Audi TT
Below we have the Audi TT sales figures and reporting data for the United States and Canada. The Audi TT is a small 2-door sports car sold in the U.S since the 2000 model year. Initially, the TT featured a 180-hp 1.8-liter turbocharged I-4 mated to five-speed manual transmission and front-drive. The all-new third-generation Audi TT coupe and Audi TT Roadster (debut in 2016) has a turbocharged 2.0-liter TFSI inline-four engine rated 220 hp and 258 lb-ft, while the TTS Coupe model makes 292 hp and 280 lb-ft. We love the Audi TTs Virtual Cockpit with multi-function 12.3-inch display which is definitely class leading. The problem with the TT (and this drives the impact on sales figures) is observed best by Motor Trend: “Though beautifully executed, well-equipped, and generally pleasant to drive, the 2016 Audi TT exists in a curious automotive twilight zone. Audi would like you to think the TT is a Porsche Boxster rival. It isn’t. Competent rather than inspiring, it’s not quite a sports car. And it’s not quite a luxury coupe, either.”

Our Take On Audi TT Sales Numbers
With gorgeous styling and strong performance, the TT and TTS appeal to both the practical and the passionate. Somebody who wants to look good but needs the practicality that comes only with one of the best all-round car companies on the planet. The latest makes a great first impression with a 220-hp turbo four (TTS makes 292 hp) and quattro all-wheel drive and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic as standard. The TT is available as both coupe and soft top; the TTS only as a coupe. With well-tuned suspensions, the TT and TTS are effortlessly fast. Both the TT and TTS blend style with refinement in ways the competition doesn’t. The Virtual Cockpit is amazing and we’d love to see it on all cars.
However, only 1,970 Audi TT units were sold through end of August 2017 (down 21.4% year on year) with only 231 units sold in August. Compare that to the more expensive Porsche Boxster that sold 231 units in August and it is clear that Audi’s two-door sports car fighter has some work to do. It just hasn’t become the sales success that Audi wants for it.
